Before You Comment. . . .
Thanks so much for your interest in engaging with the Multidharma materials on one of our social medical channels. Before you make your comment, please read the following points so you can understand what the purpose of MDh is and how we approach our online interactions:
- We are very interested in fostering intelligent conversations about spirituality, but we are not at all interested in competitive posturing about which spiritual truth or tradition is the right one. The main purpose of Multidharma is to present the topic of spiritual awakening from a new multifaceted vantage point that makes room for diverse views. If your comment sounds like its purpose is to aggressively forward a certain model or tradition or to denigrate others, we will probably delete it.
- Multidharma invites you to engage with a rich ecosystem of books, videos, in-person meetups, and other materials. Reacting to a short statement that you came across on social media, without investigating the larger context it is part of, is intellectually lazy and unfair. If your comment sounds like it is an hot-take that is completely uninformed or that misrepresents our project, we may choose to delete it.
- If you don’t resonate with Multidharma, then that is perfectly fine with us. You don’t need to tell us how much you don’t like it. Of course, critical comments help us gain traction with the algorithms just as much as positive feedback, but we prefer to help incentivize you to move on to something else that you like better so we can all just enjoy the rest of our day. So, if your comment sounds like its purpose is simply to vent, rant, or troll — or if it’s hateful, angry, or otherwise harsh or inappropriate — we almost certainly will just delete it.
The bottom line is that we’re all about engaging in deep and productive conversations that forward our appreciation of complex topics. As part of that mission, we welcome friendly debate and disagreement. A comments thread is probably not the best place to have that kind of nuanced conversation, so we warmly invite you to attend our face-to-face meetups. If you do choose to leave a comment, please help us in promoting a more cordial vibe online.
Be well and be happy! 🙏☀️
